The countdown is on for the Riviera Festival and Boat Show with less than four weeks to go before the opening of the inaugural event and the world release of Riviera’s new flagship 75 Enclosed Flybridge. Held from May 24 to 27, the Riviera Festival and Boat Show is one of the most ambitious endeavours for Australia’s largest and most awarded luxury boat builder with 71 exclusive educational and social events, some of which are already fully booked.

Riviera’s director of brand and sales Stephen Milne said the much-anticipated event was attracting Riviera owners from all over the world with RSVPs for the events already coming in from Europe, theUnited States, Puerto Rico and South Africa.

“The support and response from our owners has been overwhelming and I urge people to book early to avoid disappointment as some seminars are now fully booked.

“We have invited almost 5,000 Riviera owners to join us at the Riviera Festival and Boat Show to celebrate Riviera’s rich history, the global Riviera family of boat owners, the joys of boating and now the return to private ownership of the company and our very bright future.

“In conjunction with the Riviera Festival we will also stage here at Coomera our Boat Show, which will feature a wide range of new boats from 36 to 75 feet across our Sport Yacht, Flybridge and Offshore Express Collections.”

As the show draws nearer, Riviera is putting the final touches on the new models that will form the impressive line-up of new boats on display valued at AUD$15 million.

The event is gaining further momentum with key sponsors and partners coming on board including Cummins, Raymarine, Onan, Twin Disc, Aurora Yacht Logistics, and Simrad who will all have interactive displays on the waterfront.

There will be a range of informative seminars and displays from Riviera partners including an extensive display from R Electronics featuring the latest in marine electronics and navigation, and a Riviera Aftermarket and Service seminar providing tips and advice from the professionals on maintaining or restoring your vessel.

Riviera’s interior consultant Vivienne Sales will host a series of R Style seminar giving expert tips on choosing co-ordinating soft furnishings for your vessel, and the team from Riviera Syndication will showcase one of their newest luxury sport yachts and explain the benefits of owning a boat through syndication.

Alnmaritec recently delivered a new line handling boat (imaginatively named Esso 131) to Exxon Mobil for operations off an FPSO in a production field offshore Angola.

This is the second of the new larger Wave Handler design to be built by Alnmaritec and at just over 12m she is 2m longer than the previous Wave Handler boats. She has 1000bhp of installed power and she packs a powerful punch indeed.

She is fitted with Twin ‘Trakor Jets’ from North American Marine Jets designed specifically to give her an exceptionally high bollard pull for line handling work whilst retaining all the advantages of a water jet propulsion package on the boat.

She has a 2 tonne hydraulic capstan and a 5 tonne tow post with quick release hook on the spacious aft working deck and she has a bow landing platform for personnel transfer.

Yamaha Motor aims to increase sales of marine products in emerging economies as part of its next medium-term management plan objective of expanding “business scale.” The show is seen as important trade expo on the road to this objective for promoting full-scale business in the marine markets of not only China but also the Republic of Korea and other parts of East Asia. The Yamaha booth at this prominent show is organized primarily by group company Yamaha Motor Commercial Trading (Shanghai) Co., Ltd.

The theme of the Yamaha booth is “Quality Time on the Water” and it will exhibit four boats, including the “SC390″ (Japan domestic model EXULT36) and “SR310″ (Japan domestic model NYTRO), five personal watercraft and six outboard motor models. It is designed to promote the quality and technology of Yamaha products garnered from more than 50 years of achievement in the marine industry, while also highlighting the many fun and rewarding forms of marine leisure.

Also on display at the booth will be an array of other products such as the Yamaha motorcycles that have already won a reputation for quality in the Chinese market and the electric motorcycles that are finding a rapidly expanding market there as well. The aim is to introduce Yamaha’s unique approach to product creation that develops a diverse range of “vehicles that move people, body and soul” on the land, on the water and in the air.

This rugged no nonsense support boat is a development of the highly successful Alnmaritec Wave Worker class. She is designed specifically to have improved sea keeping properties to allow her to transfer long distances between fish farm sites and she has a unique hull form to fulfil this role. She is 16.3m long x 6.1m wide and is fitted with twin Doosan 200bhp engines driving fixed pitch propellers. She has a 20 tonne hydraulic crane with a sea water ballast system to allow her to pick up heavy cages and she has a large working deck providing plenty of versatility, even allowing her to carry livestock between islands.

Inside her spacious wheelhouse she has a helm and crew seat and a mess are with galley and table for three crew as well as ample storage and a WC. She is fitted with a 5 tonne capstan with leads forward and athwart ships and at the bow she has a removable bulwark for loading over a jetty. She has beaching skegs to allow her to take the ground and in the true sense of the word she is a real workhorse.

As a result of the closure of the Caledonian canal for the winter, the boat had a long and demanding delivery trip from Blyth up around the north coast of Scotland and down through the Western Isles, all in late February – commenting on the delivery trip the operator stated – “ The journey was a very good test for the boat. We found that she has good sea-keeping qualities and is a good stable boat in a sea. The engines also ran very nicely and used considerably less fuel than anticipated!”.

‘Ocean Wind 5′ is a variant of the extremely popular Wave Commander class from Alnmaritec. She measures 16m x 7m and is fitted with twin Scania DI16 engines giving her cruising speeds of over 24. On deck she is fitted with a payload area both fore and aft, a substantial moon pool and internally she has a survey station and comfortable accommodation for both passengers and crew.

She has a separate raised wheelhouse area providing excellent all round views from the helm position and the survey station whilst in the main accommodation she has seating for 12 pax, mess area, galley and WC; below decks she has two sleeping cabins. She is designed with the versatility to allow her to provide offshore support on windfarms during the construction phase (she has a generator refuelling capacity), for survey work, for ROV and dive support as well as for technician and tool transfer during routine operations and maintenance phases.

The recent Miami International Yacht and Brokerage Show was one of our best US boat show results for Riviera in more than four years. At Miami this year, we showcased our new 53 Enclosed Flybridge for the first time and announced our new 63 Enclosed Flybridge, of which we sold two new builds off the plan at the show, a fantastic achievement for our company.

Riviera’s brand strength and superior design and build quality continues to defy industry sales trends. The boats sold in February are destined for owners in Australia, the US and Latin America. The models sold in February were two 4400 Sport Yacht Series IIs, one 47 Enclosed Flybridge, one 43 Open Flybridge, five 5000 Sport Yachts, two 63 Enclosed Flybridges and two 53 Enclosed Flybridges.

Riviera is now preparing for the Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show and the inaugural Riviera Festival from May 24 to 27 to be held at the company’s Coomera manufacturing facility.
